Man Drowns in Falls Twp Saturday Night, Second Person Saved



A New Jersey man drowned Saturday night in the area of Biles Island and was pronounced dead, while a second swimmer was saved.
Falls Township Police said they were dispatched, at approximately 6:10 pm, to the area of Biles Island for the report of a drowning.
It was later learned that a 37 year old male from Trenton, New Jersey had gone swimming in a cove area with three other friends and was pulled out by the current. Another fried was also pulled out by the current police said.
A boater nearby observed both men being pulled out by the current. The good samaritan rescued the friend by throwing him a float, according to police.
The boater brought the friend to shore, and when he returned for the victim, he saw him go underwater.
The victim’s body was located at roughly 7:30 pm by the Trenton Police Dive Team and New Jersey State Police, officials said.
The victim was transported to Capital Health,where he was pronounced dead at 8:00 pm
The identify of the drowning victim or the boater has not been released by police.
