A Morrisville man who was getting a ride home from a party in Levittown to his home in Morrisville, for some unknown reason attacked the brother of the driver and then assaulted the driver with three friends, Falls Township Police say.
The incident played out in the early morning hours of Monday, July 15, 2024 police said.
The one son was asked by four friends for a ride from a Levittown party to Morrisville. The ride included the two brothers and the four friends. On the way to Morrisville, one of the friends, identified as Bryson Romanek, allegedly started to choke the driver’s brother. This attack took place on W. Trenton Ave in front of the Morrisville Post Office. The driver stopped the car in the parking lot of the Rock Springs Apartments.
When the car was stopped, Romanek and the other three people allegedly pulled the victim from the vehicle and ‘beat him up.’ The brother attempted to stop the attack, but the group of four began to assault him. The alleged assault continued as the driver fell to the ground. The four subjects fled when the driver threatened them allegedly saying, he was going to run them over with his vehicle, according to court records.
The first victim told police, he was just sitting in the vehicle when Romanek started to choke him for no reason. Additionally he told police that when the vehicle stopped, the four started to beat his brother up for no reason. Once the four ran off, the victim got back into the vehicle and the brothers left, police said.
Injuries were observed on both brothers by the police. The driver’s right eye was black and blue with a minor laceration under the eye. The right eye was also bloodshot. The second brother, sustained injuries to a black eye with a minor laceration under the eye, abrasions on his legs and a small abrasion on his tailbone. Both brothers were treated and released by Jefferson Bucks Hospital for bruises and abrasions, police said.
Romanek was interviewed by Falls authorities who said he started the fight and swung first. He also admitted to choking the victim for a short period of time, according to the probable cause.
Romanek, 18 of Morrisville was charged two counts of simple assault two counts of disorderly conduct and two related summary offenses. He has been summoned to appear in court for on September 4. He has no attorney on record at this time, according to online court records.
