A three-vehicle accident Friday in the Morrisville section of Falls Township left one in serious condition at a local hospital, police say
The multi-car collision occurred at the intersection of Woolston Drive and Makefield Road, Morrisville on yesterday, at approximately 1:15 p.m. vehicle involving a motorcycle and two sedans, Falls Twp Police said.
The operator of the motorcycle, a 60-year-old Lower Makefield Township male resident, was found by arriving officers on the side of the roadway with serious injuries. He was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center for treatment, said Lieutenant Christopher Clark.
The remaining two drivers remained on scene and are cooperating with police.
Preliminary investigation determined the motorcyclist to be traveling on Woolston Drive. As the motorcycle approached the intersection, a 76-year-old male resident of Lower Makefield Township operating a sedan attempted to turn from Woolston Drive onto Makefield Road. Lt. Clark said, as the driver attempted to turn, the motorcyclist struck the sedan’s passenger side, causing the motorcyclist to travel over the vehicle and land in the roadway. Following the collision, the sedan rolled into a stopped vehicle at the stop sign.
At this time, speed, intoxication or a medical emergency do not appear to be a factor in the collision, said Lt. Clark.
Anyone with information about the collision or video of the collision is asked to email the assigned investigator, P/O Matthew Shannon at m.shannon@fallstwppd.com, or anonymously, at tiplines@fallstwppd.com.
