Two dogs and one bird died in a Saturday night blaze that destroyed a home in Fairless Hills, fire officials said, where the man known as “Santa Scott” and his family lived.
According to the Falls Township Fire Marshal’s office, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Fairless Hills Fire Department was dispatched to Auburn Road in Falls Township for a reported dwelling fire.
Upon arrival, a fully involved home was discovered, but the occupants were not home at the time of the fire and returned home a short time later, officials said.
Shortly after firefighters knocked the fire back, Chris Diethorne, Scott’s brother posted the only family “approved” fundraiser on Go Fund Me. In a little more than 14 hours since the home was fully engulfed by flames 569 donations totalling just under $31,000 have been made.
“Offer a prayer for my brother Scott Diethorne aka Santa Scott, and his family, as they have suffered a devastating house fire resulting in a total loss; fortunately, no one was home at the time except for their pets,” Chris said.
No injuries were reported to firefighters, but two dogs and a bird perished in the fire.

The fire appears to have started in the attic and is under investigation by the Falls Township Fire Marshal’s office.
