A 20-year-old woman pleaded guilty on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, to filing a false police report about an attempted rape and kidnapping in the parking lot of the Redner’s in Middletown Township in April.
Anjela Borisova Urumova, of Bristol Township, pleaded guilty to seven misdemeanor counts: one count each of false alarm to an agency of public safety and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, two counts of false reports and three counts of unsworn falsification to authorities.
Common Pleas Judge Stephen Corr deferred sentencing so she can undergo a pre-sentencing investigation
As a result of Urumova’s false accusations, AND now entirely cleared by investigators Daniel Pierson, was charged. He was freed from Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF) on Friday, May 17, 2024 and charges against him were withdrawn, after he spent about 30 days in jail.
As part of the investigation, Middletown Township Police collected and reviewed available surveillance videos from multiple retailers in the area of the reported attack, and a detective with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office conducted a forensic review of Urumova’s cellphone data.
The review led to the discovery of multiple inconsistencies and contradictory information with Urumova’s account of the attack at the Redner’s parking lot. After detectives confronted her with the findings of their investigation, she admitted she lied about the entire incident and that no assault occurred in the Redner’s parking lot on April
