A Langhorne man was arrested and charged with allegedly having over 1,000 images of child pornography. He was a contracted bus driver for Neshaminy School District before the arrest and he was immediately suspended by the district.
Middletown Township Police say, they received a cyber tip report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). The reported location appeared to be in Middletown Twp. Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation and obtained search warrants for the person’s ip address and subscriber information, said police.
A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s Langhorne home too. The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Taskforce including Middletown Detectives, Bucks County District Attorney’s Office Detectives, Warrington Township, Falls Township Detectives and Special Agents from Homeland Security executed the search warrant to seize, then forensically examine various electronics and digital storage media from the residence. The seized evidence was forensically analyzed by the FBI Regional Computer Forensics Lab and yielded over 1,000 images of pornograpic images inolving children, police said.
The suspect, identified as Robert William Derr, 75, surrendered to Middletown Detectives on April 18, 2024. He was arraigned on charges of Possession of Child Pornography before District Justice Daniel Baranoski in Penndel.
Bail was set at 10%/$100,000.00 with conditions of no internet access/use and no contact with persons under 18. Derr was released after posting bail, said authorities.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 8, 2024.
