A Friday afternoon kitchen fire in the Levittown section of Middletown Township is under investigation by the fire marshal’s office with one cat perishing in the blaze.
Ron Roberts, Emergency Services Reporter, was on scene Friday afternoon for a working dwelling fire in the Red Rose Gate section of Levittown.
According to Roberts, emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 7, to Red Ridge Rd for a reported house fire. William Penn Deputy 77 arrived on the scene with smoke showing from the attic of a two story single family dwelling. Crews arrived on the scene and went in service to the interior and located fire in the kitchen area and spreading.
Firefighters from William Penn, Middletown Emergency Services and Levittown #2 went in service on the interior with multiple handline’s off Engine 77 in an aggressive attack on the fire while Penndel Tower 8 opened up the roof for ventilation, Roberts said.
One male on the scene was transported by EMS to an area hospital according to a local news source as well as multiple cats rescued and unfortunately one cat did not survive, said Roberts.
Additional fire companies on scene were Fairless Hills, Bensalem and Bristol Township fire companies assisting with bringing the fire under control. The fire is under investigation by Middletown Fire Marshal’s Office said officials.
