Cops: Social Media App used to Sextort Morrisville Victim

Morrisville Police reported a resident fell victim to a sextortion scam last week.
According to police the victim using the social media Instagram was tricked after sending ‘indecent’ images of themselves to another unidentified Instagram account a week ago today.
The victim told police that after sharing risque images, the account operator demanded $500.00 via pay pal or the photos would be sent out to ‘everyone.’
The victim sent $45.00 but the account operator proceeded to send pictures on Instagram to victim’s friends.
Chief of Police George McClay on Thursday said there were no suspects of persons or interest the department is investigating.
Sextortion cases have been in the news in Bucks County recently with the arrest of a Bensalem man, Ian Pisarchuk, 26. He was charged in June for sextorting several victims, some as young as 12. He had 40 additional counts filed against him this week for an additional nine victims, some as young as 14-years-old that have come forward to investigators.
