Morrisville authorities are offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to conviction for vandalizing an historical marker that celebrates the borough’s rich and deep colonial history.
Council President Helen Hlahol, on behalf of Morrisville Borough Council, said the Borough is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the conviction of those responsible for defacing the historic Mill Stone marker at the intersection of Delmorr Avenue and Bridge Street.
Erected in 1954, on the 150th anniversary of Morrisville, the Old Millstone monument commemorates the establishment of the first mill in Morrisville. This was Morrisville’s first industry. In 1773, Adam Hoops built the mill. It would later be owned by the Declaration of Independence &, American Constitution signers Robert Morris & George Clymer, according to historical records
If you have information about the historical symbol, Hlahol said, call Borough Hall at 215-295-8181 and share what you know.
