Pennsylvania State Police released the identity of the 81-year-old woman from Yardley who was killed Tuesday afternoon in a wrong-way crash involving a tractor-trailer on Route 1 in Morrisville.
The crash occurred around 1:14 p.m. in the southbound lanes near the Pennsylvania Avenue interchange.
Fire crews from the Morrisville, Falls Twp. and Fairless Hills Fire Companies were dispatched to the southbound lanes of Route 1 for auto extrication.
First responders arrived to find a two-vehicle crash involving a car and tractor trailer with one driver trapped, said fire officials.
Crews worked collectively to stabilize the vehicle and free the driver. Both drivers were transported by EMS to nearby hospitals, Morrisville Fire Company officials said.
Authorities say the woman was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when her vehicle collided with the tractor-trailer.
