Jury Convicts Morrisville Man of Attempted Murder

A Bucks County Jury on Wednesday convicted a Morrisville man of attempted murder and related offenses for October 2025 shooting that left one man with serious injuries outside Orchard View Apartments  in the Borough. 

Following a 3-day trial, Kevin  Watts, of Morrisville, was also found guilty of two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of a weapon, receiving stolen property, and harassment, authorities said.

Watts was wanted by the Bucks County Detectives for the  shooting that occurred at 1:00 a.m. on October 11th at the Orchard View Apartments.

After a verbal dispute, Watts allegedly shot another man in the abdomen and then fled the scene.

On the same date, a warrant for aggravated assault was issued and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia was asked for assistance. 

According to court records, investigators,  found that on the morning of October 11, 2025, Watts was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a woman.  The victim was seated in the rear.

While parked at the Orchard View Apartments, an altercation occurred between Watts and the victim.

Testimony and evidence presented during the trial showed that after the two men exited the vehicle, Watts shot the victim in the chest with a small black pistol equipped with a green laser sight. Following the shooting, Watts fled and the victim was taken a hospital in Trenton, New Jersey, to receive treatment for his injuries.

The investigation further found that the weapon used, a .40-caliber gun loaded with hollow-point bullets, had been stolen.

The professionalism, dedication, and teamwork demonstrated throughout this significant investigation were instrumental in securing a conviction and ensuring accountability for a violent act within our community, Morrisville Borough Chief of Police Rich Ciampa said in a release.

“This verdict ensures that Mr. Watts is held fully accountable for a cold-blooded act of violence that nearly cost a man his life,” District Attorney Joe Khan said. “We hope this conviction provides the victim and the Morrisville community a sense of security and the justice they deserve. I also want to commend the diligent, expert work of the Bucks County Detectives and the Morrisville Borough Police Department, and Deputy DA Chad Kovack, whose thorough investigation made this conviction possible.”

Sentencing for Watts has been deferred to Aug. 13, pending the completion of a pre-sentence investigation.
