Waste Management donated $65,000 to Morrisville Borough’s Motor Carrier program last year; this year, they surprised the council with a matching donation.
Morrisville Borough Council received the $65,000 donation from Waste Management’s Bob Jones, who spoke of the partnership between Morrisville and the refuse removal company at Tuesday nights council meeting.
Waste Management and Morrisville have a long-standing partnership when it comes to traffic safety and truck driver safety. This is something we’ve been doing for years, and we’re happy to support it. We are also pleased to support the decision to redesignate the intermodal connector from Pennsylvania Avenue by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, said Jones.
In response, Council President Helen Hlahol said that Waste Management has been very good to Morrisville as they tell their trucks to use Tyburn Road and not S. Pennsylvania Ave. and whenever there is an issue, it is handled.
Jones expressed confidence in Corporal Lew Halas, who will inspect the trucks, saying he’s been working out at the site with us and Falls Township, so it’s great to see the donation in action.
At the urging of Hlahol, Halas accepted the donation of $65,000 from Waste Management.
