Penndel Man Jailed on Assault Charges, Police Say

A 40  year-old Penndel man is facing serious charges after an apparent domestic dispute at an apartment complex eqarlier this  month.

Daniel Dogba, 40 was arraigned by on-call District Judge Terrence Hughes on charges of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanors of strangulation and simple assault on July 19 and remanded him to the custody of Bucks County Correctional setting bail at 10 percent of $100,000.00

According to court records, Penndel Borough Police were dispatched to building D at an apartment complex on E Lincoln Highway and  made contact with a male subject seated outside the building

The male, later identified as Dogba  said he was not the person who called the police and did not want to be involved in the situation. He further said that the female involved was inside the building and that he did not want to implicate anyone.

Police advised the male that, due to the nature of the call, an investigation was required and requested identification. The male said that he did not possess identification but verbally identified himself providing  his date of birth.

Dogba said a verbal altercation began after he confronted his girlfriend about the condition of her apartment.

According to Dogba, he gathered his belongings and was leaving the apartment when his girlfriend struck him in the back of the head. Dogba said that the only physical contact he initiated occurred while attempting to keep her away from him. He acknowledged that both parties placed their hands on each other and said that, at one point, he placed his forearm against her chest to prevent her from attacking him, police said.

Dogba alleged he  was struck in the left eye. Police photographed Dogba’s left eye but did not observe any visible injury, according to court records.

Police entered the apartment building and made contact with the complainant, who was identified through her Pennsylvania driver’s license..

She told police she and Dogba had been involved in a verbal altercation that morning. She explained that the argument intensified while Dogba was gathering his belongings. Due to the escalation, she went into her bedroom.

She said Dogba accused her of ignoring him, pushed her into the bedroom wall, and dug his fingernails into her face. She said that she attempted to disengage and walked away following the initial physical altercation. Dogba reportedly left and reentered the bedroom several times while gathering his personal belongings, according to court records.

She alleged Dogba subsequently threw her onto the bed.  In  an attempt to defend herself and get Dogba off her, she grabbed the hair on the back of his head.

According to her, Dogba yelled at her, called her a “bitch,” and forcibly pressed his forearm against her throat, restricting her ability to breathe, court records show.

She reported Dogba threatened her by saying words to the effect of, “Ill end your shit” and “kill you in this room.” While Dogba’s forearm was pressed against her throat, she dug her fingernails into his face in an attempt to make him release her, police said in court records.

She told police once she was within arm’s reach of her telephone, she called the police. She reported that Dogba stated he was “not going to run.”

Police also made contact with the victim’s daughter. She told police, she was awakened by the sound of arguing and observed Dogba enter the bedroom, knock over a table, throw her mother onto the bed, and place his hands on her mother’s neck, police wrote in the probable cause.

Police observed visible marks beneath the victim’s left eye and scratches near her right temple.

Dogba is due back in court on July 29 for a preliminary hearing. He has no attorney of record according to online court records.
