National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday



The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled a Prescription Drug Take Back Day for Saturday, October 29.
Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs while educating the general public about the potential for abuse and medication.
According to the DEA April’s National Take Back Day resulted in:
- Total Law Enforcement Participation: 4,427
- Total Collection Sites: 5,144
- Total Weight Collected: 721,093 lbs. (360 Tons)
- Total Weight All Time: 15,989,566 lbs. (7,995 Tons)
In Pennsylvania just under 33,000 pounds was collected, according to DEA data.
