Corporal Chad Vargo and Officer Meghan Wheatly of the Warminster Township Police Department were promoted at this month’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
Vargo was promoted to Sergeant and Wheatley to Corporal, assisting Corporal Outland with C Squad. They were sworn in by Magisterial District Judge Christopher E. O’Neill, officials said.
Vargo attended West Chester University. Prior to joining the Warminster Police Department in July 2009, he served as a police officer with the Coatesville and South Heidelberg Township Police Departments. During his tenure with the Warminster Police Department, Vargo worked as a Central Bucks Special Response Team crime scene investigator. He has also worked as a CPR and first aid instructor, and a firearms instructor. Vargo is also a member of the Bucks County Major Incident Response Team (MIRT). He is married with two children.
Wheatley grew up in Springfield and attended Springfield Township High School. She graduated from Bloomsburg University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in political science. She attended Montgomery County Community College Police Academy, and upon graduation, was hired by the Warminster Police Department in August of 2019. Wheatley is a Field Training officer and Defensive Tactics instructor. She recently completed her first class in the trilogy of the FBI-LEEDA Supervisory Leadership Institute in Bucks County.
“I am pleased to announce the promotions of Corporal Vargo to Sergeant and Officer Wheatley to Corporal,” stated Chief James Donnelly, III. “Both have demonstrated exceptional commitment to our department and the Warminster community. Their professionalism, leadership, and dedication to public safety make them well-deserving of these advancements. I have full confidence they will continue to excel in their new roles.”
