A longtime Catholic school teacher and youth sports coach from Warminster Township, who was charged by Bucks County authorities with child pornograpy offensess this past June was charged by federal authorities with one count of receipt and attempted receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, United States Attorney David Metcalf announced Tuesday.
Ex Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School teacher and coach Richard Adamsky, 66, of Warminster, is scheduled to appear in U.S District Court in Philadelphia later today, authorities said to answer to the newly filed federal indictment.
According to authorities, on or about June 15, 2024, Adamsky knowingly received a visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The indictment further alleges that Adamsky possessed two computers and two flash drives containing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. These depictions included prepubescent minors and minors under 12 years of age.
If convicted, Adamasky faces a maximum possible sentence of 40 years’ imprisonment, with a mandatory minimum term of five years in prison.
The charges stem from Adamsky’s June arrest by Bucks County authorities. He was placed on administrative leave by the school shortly after his arrest. He was employed there for 30 according to court records.
The age group of the children he used to teach and coach is consistent with the age group depicted in the illicit images found on his device shortly after his arrest, said authorities in court papers.
Since his June arrest Adamsky has been confined at Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $100,000.00 bail. Adamsky is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in November for the Bucks County case. He is represented by Christopher J. Serpico, Esq. in that case according to court records.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
