Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) , a cornerstone of the Bristol community and a hub for the arts for nearly four decades, is hosting its Grand Reopening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Friday.
This event celebrates the completion of the theatre’s first phase of their renovation which begins with the refurbishment of the theatre chamber. Upgrades include a new roof, enhanced sound, new seating and carpeting, newly painted walls, and upgraded HVAC and electrical systems, a BRT spokesperson said.
State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10th District) and state Representative Tina Davis (D-141st District) will deliver remarks and officially cut the ribbon, underscoring their support for BRT as a vital cultural and economic driver in Bristol.
The new upgrades, supported in part by a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant, help BRT facilitate acclaimed productions, bolster local businesses, and draw thousands of visitors to the area each year.
