At last nights Bristol Borough School Board meeting, directors and administrative staff  resolved to work together and move ahead by participating in member related training and staff related team building retreats in light of recent reported events.

School Board Solicitor David Truelove read a statement at the beginning of last nights meeting, addressing  the “incident”  between Superintendent Dr. Rose Minnitti and School Board President David Chichilitti on April 30 in the High School cafeteria.

Truelove said the incident has been resolved and there would be no specific board comment offered at the meeting and then he read a statement:

“It should be noted that this board is committed to educating itself and improving the relationship and improving the relationship it has with all staff,  administrative, professional and support staff. To demonstrate this commitment the board will be doing the following:”

  1. All board members will participate in mandatory board training as required under Pennsylvania Law.
  2. All Board members and administrative staff will schedule and participate in a retreat to be facilitated by a trained professional to assist in fostering a cultural respect, cooperation, and communication consistent with applicable school code and district policy requirements.

Truelove, thanked the Superintendent’s professionalism and dedication to the district and as well as all school board members.

The statement comes on the heels of an eventful last two weeks, in which the April 30 incident between the two district representative’s became public, a letter was sent the school by an attorney representing Minitti demanding the School Board President step down and that letter becoming public.

Truelove noted the retreat is something done by many school districts.

And so closes what many commenters described as an “ugly chapter” for the School Board as May Primaries are upon voters.
