Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe wears several other hats -so to speak- and last week as chairman of the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority he announced a grant that will help pay for a new roof for the borough’s senior center.
40 other community grant requests were also announced (to be covered in a separate story).

Bristol Borough officials in late 2024 said making needed investments in the senior center is a high priority. The borough approved placing the program under its insurance umbrella saying it would save the center about $14,000.00 annually which could be redirected to programming and repairs.
At Monday night’s Council meeting members are expected to approve accepting the funds for the roof repair project.
The Redevelopment Authority, as a redevelopment authority is authorized under the Pennsylvania Race Horse and Development Gaming Act of 2004, to receive 1% percent of the gross terminal revenue from Parx Casino and Racetrack to administer municipal grants to municipalities in which the gaming facility is located.
Grants from Pennsylvania Gaming Revenues are authorized by the Board of Directors of the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks, under the Municipal Grant Program created by the Act introduced by Republican Senator Robert M. “Tommy” Tomlinson.
