Falls Touch a Truck Raises $30K for Two Nonprofits

The Falls Township Touch a Truck event has raised more than $100,000 for local charities since it began seven years ago now you can add $30,000 in generous donations, which was split evenly between The Goofy Gators, a Falls Twp -based nonprofit serving the autism community; and The Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation, a charity which provides financial aid to families throughout the Delaware Valley who are in need due to recent tragedy or adversity, officials said Monday.

Spearheaded by Falls Township Supervisor Jeff Boraski and the township’s Parks and Recreation department, Touch a Truck offers a unique opportunity for children to learn more about how the various vehicles on display serve as first response, construction, electrical, farming, manufacturing and more. Touch A Truck kicks off quietly with a  sensory friendly first hour.

“We are proud of the continued success of our Touch a Truck event and appreciate the ongoing support of our sponsors,” Boraski said. “Our Touch a Truck committee will announce soon how nonprofit organizations can be selected as benefactors for future events,” a Falls Twp press release says.

Featured at the Saturday event were police and fire vehicles, two school buses, a tanker from the Township of Falls Authority, and Falls Township mowers and trucks.

Event sponsors who helped to break this year’s fundraising record are Trash Daddy, Rudolph Clarke LLC, Waste Management, Yard Truck Specialists, Crozier Contractors, SKD Tryon’s Emergency Vehicle Upfitting, IBEW Local 269, KPK Development, Premium Excavating, Grace Construction, United Inspection Agency, B. Blair Corp, Jones Engineering Associates, Barry Isett & Associates Inc., Armour & Sons, Carr & Duff, Red Box Dumpsters, Fred Beans, Victory Gardens Inc., Family Fuel, Britton Industries, Remington and Vernick Engineers, Just Stumps, Bayard Pump and US Municipal, said officials.
