A new Coastal Flood Advisory for the area has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) and is now into effect to 6 am Sunday morning.
Forecasters say up to one foot of inundation above ground level is expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways in the areas of Gloucester, Camden and Northwestern, all of New Jersey. Lower Bucks, Delaware County and Philadelphia are the affected areas in Pennsylvania through Sunday, August 24 2025.
At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads along tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible. A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood, , said officials.
NWS warns drivers to not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.
