County Issues Code Blue for Holiday Weekend



With freezing temperatures forecasted to drop below 20 degrees for at least the next few days Bucks County issued a Code Blue declaration Friday morning.
Shelters in Upper, Central and Lower Bucks are set to open at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The Code Blue declaration will be in effect for Bucks County through Wednesday morning as rain and extreme cold approach for the holiday weekend, said Bucks County Spokesman James O’Malley.

The county issues a “Code Blue” declaration when temperatures are forecast to drop below 20 degrees for two or more consecutive days. A “Code Blue” may be called amid higher temperatures, as consideration is also given to wind chill, precipitation and other circumstances.
During weekdays those seeking refuge from the cold or seeking services or supports, like cell phone charging, etc can now visit Reach Out Foundations Homeless Drop-In Center
