The weather is warming and with that brings an array of family friendly inexpensive outdoor activities that can become part of family lore for generations to come such as the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commissions (PFBC) upcoming events
Next Saturday, March 28, is Mentored Youth Trout Fishing Day across the Commonwealth. The day set aside for youth to fish Stocked Trout Waters listed for the Opening Day of Trout Season.
To participate, youth anglers (those under the age of 16) must have either a free Mentored Youth Permit or a Voluntary Youth Fishing License.
The Mentored Youth Permit is free. The Voluntary Youth License is $2.97 ($1 cost + $1 issuing agent fee + $0.97 PALS transaction fee). The purchase of a voluntary youth license supports youth programs all year long.

The following Saturday, April 4, is the first day of trout season. If you haven’t already, be sure to buy your fishing licenses and permits and get your gear organized.
