Researchers have found over the years divorce has a myriad of impacts on children through the developmental span, and a local human services agency is holding a virtual seminar on how best to help kids affected by the ending of their parents marriages.
Lenape Valley Foundation (LVF) is offering a free virtual workshop focused on educating parents, caregivers and professionals about issues related to helping children and adolescents navigate the transition of their parents’ divorce. It will take place on Thursday, November 18 from 5:00 – 6:00 pm via ZoomFacilitated by Alison Blum, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at LVF with extensive experience providing therapy to children, adolescents and their families, this workshop will provide information on common symptoms, diagnoses and struggles children and teens deal with as a result of their parents’ divorce and how parents can help to support their children, while also adjusting themselves. During the 90-minute session, a presentation will also be offered by LVF staff member Alexandra Pattison, an Outpatient Therapist.
For more than 60 years, Lenape Valley Foundation has partnered with residents of Bucks County encountering mental health, substance use, intellectual or developmental challenges, providing services to assist them in the pursuit of their personal aspirations and an enhanced quality of lifvicese. Lenape Valley Foundation is a private, not-for-profit provider of crisis, information and referral, treatment, case management, residential, consultation and psycho-educational services.
