Upcoming Fall 2023 Events at Silver Lake Nature Center 

Saturday Morning Bird Walks. Saturday Morning Bird Walks are offered from September through November AND March through May at 7:30am. FREE. Bring your binoculars if you have a pair! Meet at the Welcome Kiosk outside of the SLNC Visitors’ Center. 

Charlie Zahm & Tad Marks Concert – A Tribute to John Denver & the Great Outdoors! Saturday, November 4th, 7:30pm. (Doors open at 7pm.) Returning for another awesome concert, Charlie Zahm on vocals & guitar and Tad Marks on fiddle! Admission is $15/person (in advance by 4pm on 11/4/23 as available) or $20/person at the door (if available). Concert will be held inside the SLNC Visitors’ Center. Turkey Time! Saturday, November 11th, 11am-12pm. Enjoy an indoor Story & Craft with our Educators, while learning about wild and domestic turkeys! Fee for Friends of SLNC Members: $5/person; fee for Non-members: $7/person. Register at SilverLakeNatureCenter.org or call 215-785-1177. 

“IPR Team” Volunteer Project Day. Saturdays: November 18th; and December 16th, 10am-12pm. The Invasive Plants Removal Team meets once a month to help clear Invasive Plants from specific areas on the SLNC Grounds/Trails. Each season brings new plants in various degrees of difficulty and will also serve as a learning opportunity! These Project Days also involve planting native plants and trees. *Volunteers under age 18 must have an accompanying parent/legal guardian with them for the duration of the event. No exceptions. Thank you. 

SLNC Earthship Tours. Saturdays, 11/18, & 12/16, 1pm-2:30pm. Stop by to visit and learn about these interesting, sustainable structures! Tours are FREE, but donations to the nonprofit Friends of SLNC are greatly appreciated. Register at SilverLakeNatureCenter.org or call 215-785-1177. 

 “Friends of SLNC Fall Baskets Fun-fundraiser.” Please stop into the SLNC Visitors’ Center (at 1306 Bath beautiful items that could be yours!  Your donation of $20 (per sheet of 25 tickets) to the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center will provide you with 25 opportunities to win one (or more!) of these fabulous prizes! This special ‘fun-raiser’ is running through mid-November! **100% of the proceeds support the nonprofit Friends of SLNC organization.**

 The Wonder of it All” Holiday Concert by Christopher Westfall. Saturday, December 16th, 7:30pm. (Doors open at 7pm.) SLNC is pleased to welcome back singer, songwriter, musician, and Nashville recording artist, Chris Westfall, to celebrate this beautiful Season in Song! Fall Afterschool Series. If your learner is looking for a fun way to run off some energy after school and learn about Nature while doing it, the Afterschool Series is for you! Fall Homeschool Series. If you are looking for enrichment for your homeschooling lessons, look no further! SLNC offers educational series for students interested in deepening their knowledge of the natural world. Our next Series has am & pm sessions available on: 11/29; 12/6; 12/13; 12/20. Day-off from School Camp Days. Why only have Camp in the summer when you can do it in all seasons?! SLNC’s School-year Camp Days are scheduled for days when most schools are off. Each Camp Day provides exciting seasonal adventures for your child (5 – 14 years old). Staff and Campers spend the days exploring the forest, swamps, and marsh in all weather. Day-off Camps for 2023-24 are scheduled for: 11/7; 11/10; 11/22; 12/22; 12/28; 12/29; 1/15; 2/19; 3/28; 3/29; 4/23; & 5/14.

Bird Seed Sales. Bird watching is more fun when you can attract them to your own yard, so fill your feeders with one of our special mixes. Friends of SLNC Members receive a 10% discount on all Orders. Bird Seed Sales are scheduled for 12/16/23; 2/17/24; and 4/20/24. Visit SilverLakeNatureCenter.org to place an order.

The Silver Lake Nature Center, where learning comes naturally, is a 264-acre Nature Preserve located in Bristol Township, Bucks County. It is a facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation with additional funding and staffing provided by the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center nonprofit organization. SLNC is home to over 40 plant and animal species listed as rare, threatened, or endangered in Pennsylvania. Participation in programs helps protect these species and their habitats. SLNC does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its programs, activities, or facilities. People with special needs are asked to give advance notice.
