Lower Makefield Twp Declares State of Emergency, Closes Offices, Cancels Sup Meeting



Lower Makefield Township has Declared a disaster of emergency, announced the closing of its municipal building Monday, and cancelled Wednesdays Board of Supervisors meeting.
“The Township Building along with LMT Parks System will close today at 5:00PM the intended reopen date is March 30th. For more information about Township Related business or how to contact the staff please see our COVID-19 information page” reads a statement from township officials.
The township building will be closed starting Tuesday, March 17th until Monday, March 30th when we are currently scheduled to reopen, officials said.
Staff will be working remotely and able to address community concerns and questions
Additionally township officials announced the emergency declaration which empowers the Emergency Management to coordinate emergency response and appropriate actions needed of the alleviate the spread of COVID-19 in the municipality.
The Board of Supervisors meeting was cancelled and rescheduled for April 1, with the possibility of holding a virtual meeting online in which the public can still participate, a statement sent to Lower Bucks Source reads.
The zoning board meeting scheduled for March 17 is also cancelled, officials said.
