The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Digital Message Sign (DMS) improvements will continue next week on Interstate 95 in Bucks and Philadelphia counties.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, August 21, through Wednesday, August 23, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 just south of the Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) Interchange in Bensalem Township, Bucks County;
- Monday, August 21, through Wednesday, August 23, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 just north of the Academy Road Interchange in Philadelphia; and
- Wednesday, August 23, and Thursday, August 24, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 just south of the Street Road (Route 132) Interchange in Bensalem Township, Bucks County.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The DMS work is part of a $24.1 million project to upgrade and improve Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components across the Philadelphia region. The ITS equipment will be used by PennDOT’s Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) to monitor travel conditions and provide motorists with real-time information about area highways.
