The Bucks County Commissioners greenlit a project for a new observation deck to be constructed and installed at the Silver Lake Nature Center in July. Beginning Monday the deck area and trails leading to it will be closed off for the work to begin.
Naturalist- Director of SLNC, PattiAnn Cutter said Tuesday, work crews were already on site at SLNC for a work plan meeting.
Athena Contracting LLC, of Philadelphia, PA was awarded the work contract for $459,000.00.

Cutter said she didn’t want to commit to a reopening date for the trail leading up to the observation deck because bad weather, for example, could lead to work stoppages. In her customary way of taking what some people could see as a negative and turning it into a positive, Cutter said, when the trail (s) and observation deck reopen plans are in the works for an official ceremony with all the bells and whistles to boot.
I’m so grateful the commissioners approved the project request, We’re really looking forward to having the new observation deck open as soon as the work is completed, Cutter said.
