Fla and NJ Fugitive From Justice Arrested in Yardley

Yardley Borough Police Monday morning took into custody a 25 year-old man with two out-of-state warrants.

Treian Cook was arrested early this morning, sources said, by police in the Wawa parking lot in Yardley Borough.

One warrant is from across the Delaware River in Mercer County, New Jersey for failure to appear for an August court date in 2021. The second fugitive warrant comes out of  Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office in Florida for an alleged 2021 robbery and  aggravated assault.  

At approximately 3:39 a.m., a Yardley Police officer on patrol when he observed a minor motor vehicle accident in a parking lot of Wawa. During the course of the investigation, the driver was initially deceptive with his name, said Chief of Police Joseph Kelly.

The two-state fugitive from justice was taken into custody and transported to Bucks County Prison where he awaits extradition to Florida. 

Cook was charged for a November, 2020 incident in which he was driving with no headlights on, according to Lawrence Twp Police. He began to flee at a high rate of speed on wet roadways, officers tried to stop him, his black Acura swerved and crashed.  A  female occupant jumped out, ran down an alley as Cook fled the scene on foot. 

The records for Cook’s Hillsborough County arrest were not immediately available. This news organization filed a request with the authorities to obtain those records Monday afternoon. 

No official word on when extradition proceedings are scheduled.
