PennDOT announced that overhead Interstate 95 bridge construction will periodically restrict sections of surface streets in Northeast Philadelphia beginning on Wednesday, June 17.
Beginning today, through Friday, June 26, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. periodic weekday lane closures with flagging may be in place at the following locations:
- Venango Street between Bath Street and E. Allen Street
- Castor Avenue between Richmond Street and the I-95 North on-ramp
- Richmond Street between Wheatsheaf Lane and E. Butler Street
- Wheatsheaf Lane between Richmond Street and E. Thompson Street
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s $311 million I-95/AF3 project that will reconstruct and widen 1.3 miles of I-95 in both directions between Tioga Street and Wheatsheaf Lane.
