McCauley faces one count each of trafficking in individuals, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual abuse of children, and criminal use of a communication facility.
McCauley was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Gary Gambardella, who set bail at $10 million. He remains in custody at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 31.
He also faces three counts each of sexual exploitation of children, solicitation to commit statutory sexual assault, solicitation to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, solicitation to commit patronizing victim of sexual servitude, solicitation to commit aggravated indecent assault, and solicitation to commit sexual abuse of children.
The charges stem from an investigation by Bucks County Detectives, which found that McCauley groomed and coerced the victim into sexual encounters with two adult males in October 2024. At least one of the encounters was video recorded via Snapchat. McCauley allegedly arranged these encounters by communicating with multiple adult males through an online dating site.
The two other defendants identified in the investigation, Jon Thomas Van Ingen, 67, of Buckingham Township, and Randy Francis Quinn, 42, of Coopersburg, are awaiting trial on their respective charges. Van Ingen was charged with statutory sexual assault, while Quinn was charged with two counts of statutory sexual assault, photographing or filming a child sex act, and dissemination of photos or film of child sex acts.
District Attorney Jennifer Schorn previously praised the victim and her mother for their strength and cooperation, commending the dedicated efforts of the Bucks County Detectives and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The investigation began in February 2025 after the 13-year-old victim communicated with an individual on Snapchat who identified himself as “Jake,” later identified as McCauley. McCauley allegedly solicited sexually explicit photos and videos from the victim and later coerced her into creating a fake online dating profile to arrange sexual encounters with men.
The Kentucky Office of the Attorney General and the Saint Matthews Police Department in Kentucky assisted with McCauley’s arrest in April 2025.
This case is assigned for prosecution to Chief Deputy District Attorney Kristin M. McElroy.
