What some local media outlets called a “mystery” last week is now revealed in court records explaining why federal agents raided a Penndel Borough business, carrying out evidence and taking its owner, Gary Medina, who will turn 38 next month and is now charged with three felony counts of drug distribution and three related offenses.
Fox 29 originally reported on the “raid” last Tuesday at Lord Computer situated off Lincoln Highway in Penndel Borough.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed by agents with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) and PA Office of Attorney General Bureau of Narcotics and Drug Control (PABNIDC) executed a Federal Sealed Search warrant.
A search of the building was conducted pursuant to the Federal Search warrant. Located inside the building was approximately 243 grams of “Oxydolor” 40 mg and 80 mg pills (approximately 430 pills total) located in a blister pack style bag with a United States Postal label on it. The shipper information was LORD COMPUTERS INC, 50 Centre St Penndel, PA, 19047.
“Oxydolor” is a brand name for a pain medication containing oxycodone hydrochloride as its active ingredient. Oxycodone is a potent opioid painkiller, primarily used to relieve moderate to severe pain, particularly when other pain relievers haven’t been effective or aren’t tolerated, according to the Federal Drug Administration.
Agents also located in the building next to Medina’s computer work area a United States Postal Service Priority mail envelope. Inside the envelope was a zip lock bag containing 125 grams of yellow pills suspected to be Alprazolam 2 mg.
Located in the same envelope was a centrum silver bottle containing approximately 90 grams of white rectangle pills labeled
Xanax.
Alprazolam is a generic drug with several brand names and nicknames; Xanax is what the drug is chiefly known as and its street parlance, often called “Zannies” or Blue Footballs. Located in me same envelope was a Centrum silver bottle containing approximately 90 grams of white rectangle pills labeled Xanax.
Fox 29 said in there report that shipping labels was the apparent focus the investigators who stayed on scene for about eight hours.
The probable cause for the drug offenses was filed hours after the agents raided the computer business.
On-call Magisterial District Judge Kevin P. Wagner arraigned Medina hours after he was taken into custody on the drug distribution charges setting bail at 10 percent of $150,000 which was posted the following day. He was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing yesterday in Penndel District Court. However, an update on the outcome of the hearing or whether it was rescheduled to a new date is not clear as of publication time.
