Outdoor Skating Rink Coming to Neshaminy Mall for Holiday Season

A new outdoor ice skating rink is just in time for the holiday season and possibly provide much needed retail traffic for Neshaminy Mall, in Bensalem.

The “pop-up” winter attraction by Flight On Ice will open  November. 25, the day after Thanksgiving, and will remain open through Feb. 26.

Flight On Ice will also donate a portion of the rink’s proceeds to the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 Survivors Fund, officials said.

“Working with great partners in the community has made it possible to bring our ice skating rink experience to Bucks County this season,” said Jon Schaffer, president of Flight Entertainment. “We are thrilled to bring a new family-friendly concept to the Neshaminy Mall and hope to make this a staple attraction in the community for years to come, all while helping out a great cause that is near and dear to our hearts.”

The skating rink will be housed in the mall’s parking lot.

Features include a full-size (60’x 100’) recreational outdoor skating rink, affordable skate rentals, free on-site parking, festive music, lighting, video & decor, delicious food and beverages, heated hospitality tents perfect for private parties, next-level entertainment and a robust calendar of family-friendly themed events.

Weekly events include:

  • Free Movie Nights on Wednesdays with bottomless bags of popcorn.
  • Thank You Thursdays honoring our Fraternal Order of Police and for all Bucks County residents with a buy-one-get-one half-off skate special.
  • Skating Under the Stars on Fridayswith a discount on two-packs
  • SaturdayNight Socials are geared toward local students with DJs, music and themed entertainment.
  • Sunday Family Fundays will feature a special discounted 4-pack ticket bundle, including complimentary offerings, activities and themes.

Flight On Ice at the Neshaminy Mall is located at 707 Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, PA, right outside of the AMC Movie Theater and the old Sears Automotive Center.

Starting Black Friday, the rink will open:

  • Wednesday 4-8 p.m.
  • Thursday 4-8 p.m.
  • Friday 4-10 p.m.
  • Saturday 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Sunday 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

There may be expanded holiday hours, weather permitting.

Single general admission tickets to skate are $12, with $10 skate rentals plus taxes and fees from Dec. 16 through Jan. 2 for peak holiday hours and $10 and $8 for all other sessions.

Although tickets and rentals are available at the box office, Flight On Ice recommends reserving your sessions online in advance, especially during peak holiday hours to ensure getting on the ice in a timely manner. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own skates to save on rental fees and skate sharpening services are provided at all locations.

A portion of the proceeds from both rink sales and sponsorships will benefit the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 Survivors Fund to help them carry out their mission of providing financial assistance and support to the families of Philadelphia police officers who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.

Flight On Ice also offers a number of unique party packages perfect for birthday celebrations, special events, school fundraisers, class trips and corporate team-building days. Private rink rentals may also be available upon request.
