Artists of Bristol – “Summer Sojourn Art Show 2022.” Creative artwork & photography from many Members of the Artists of Bristol Group will be exhibited at this themed nature and summer season art show here at Silver Lake Nature Center! Stop by to view the beautiful Artwork through June 15th (Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10am-5pm & Sundays, Noon-5pm).

Yoga Classes Return to SLNC – Starting on Thursday, June 9th!! Yoga Classes will once again be offered on (most) Thursdays at 7:30pm. Fee is $10/person per class – payable at the Class.

Please note: from June through August, the Classes will take place outdoors at SLNC’s beautiful Pergola (located just outside of the SLNC Visitors’ Center).

Enjoy a one hour Yoga class with certified instructor, Trina Shumsonk. This class is Vinyasa Flow based with a mix of Yin and restorative poses for a soothing balance. All levels of Yoga practice experience are welcome! Modifications and variations are presented throughout to fit the needs of every person. Earthship Tours. Saturday, June 11th, 1 – 2:30pm. FREE. The SLNC Earthship will be open to the public today! Stop by to visit and learn about these interesting, sustainable structures!

Summer Solstice Celebration – Concert by Christopher Westfall. Saturday, June 18th, 7:30pm. SLNC is pleased to welcome back Singer, Songwriter, Musician, and Nashville Recording Artist, Christopher Westfall, to celebrate the beginning of Summer with a “Soundtrack of America & Other Songs of the Season!” In addition to his own Music, Chris will be paying tribute to other Artists, such as James Taylor, John Denver, Kenny Loggins, Dan Fogelberg, and More!

The Concert is planned to take place at SLNC’s beautiful Outdoor Amphitheater. However, if weather is inclement, the Concert will be moved inside the SLNC Visitors’ Center. (**Ticketholders will be notified by email or phone on the day of the Concert if there are any changes due to weather.**)

Prices are the same for all ages. No refunds/exchanges unless event is canceled by SLNC. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Friends of SLNC organization.

Volunteer Work Day. Saturday, July 2nd , 9am – 12pm. Help us maintain our grounds! Be prepared to get wet and dirty. Bring a refillable water bottle. This event is Rain or Shine. Register by visiting www.SilverLakeNatureCenter.org, or by calling 215-785-1177.

Introduction to Kayaking. Saturday, July 16th, 9am – 11am. Have you ever wanted to learn how to maneuver a kayak? Well here is your chance. This two-hour class, led by Kayaking Instructor, Cameron Calista, introduces you to the parts of a kayak, how to hold and move a kayak paddle, how to enter and exit a kayak, ways to keep your balance while kayaking and, of course, how to get around on the water in a kayak. The Introduction to Kayaking Class takes place right on the waters of Silver Lake (at Silver Lake Park). **Participants under the age of 18 years old must have a Participating/Paying Parent/Guardian accompanying them on this program. MINIMUM age for this program is 14 years old.** Fee: $35/person or $30/person for Friends of SLNC Members. Register by visiting www.SilverLakeNatureCenter.org or by calling 215-785-1177. Moonlight Kayak Excursion. Saturday, July 16 th, 6:30pm – 9:30pm. This excursion is for kayakers who have kayaked at least once before & are at least 18 years of age. We will start at the edge of Silver Lake. Once on the water, we will travel up Silver Lake into Magnolia Lake. Along the way, we will dock for a Campfire and Marshmallow Roast. After all the marshmallows are gone, we will embark on our journey back, letting the moonlight guide our way. Each kayaker will be able to take in the lovely sights of Silver Lake bathed in moonlight.

Fee: $45/person or $40/person for Friends of SLNC Members. Register by visiting www.SilverLakeNatureCenter.org or by calling 215-785-1177. (Space is limited. Early registration is recommended.)

The Silver Lake Nature Center, where learning comes naturally, is a 264-acre Nature Preserve located in Bristol Township, Bucks County. It is a facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation with additional funding and staffing provided by the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center nonprofit organization. SLNC is home to over 40 plant and animal species listed as rare, threatened, or endangered in Pennsylvania. Participation in programs helps protect these species and their habitats. SLNC does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its programs, activities, or facilities. People with special needs are asked to give advance notice.

The Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation was established in 1953. The Department is responsible for the acquisition, development, and preservation of open space and regional parks. The Department seeks in every endeavor to improve the quality of life and environment for all Bucks County residents, by working to enhance existing and projected recreational and cultural needs for our County.
