Wawa’s first ever drive-thru in the Morrisville section of Falls Township store closed its doors earlier this week.
Signage posted in front of the store at the busy intersection of West Trenton Avenue and Pine Grove Road, announced the halting of operations as of last Monday.
Opened at the outset of the COVID Pandemic in 2021 Wawa officials described the idea as new concept for the company focusing on providing fast food and beverage options.
A Wawa drive thru location opened earlier this year in Allentown (Lehigh County) and a third is currently operating in Florida.
Drive-thru windows exist at traditional Wawa locations, in Lower Bucks County .
Wawa plans to open 160 new stores in Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana over the next five to eight years, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported earlier this year.
Wawa currently has 1,070 stores across eight states and the District of Columbia.
Company officials did not respond to requests for comment on the reason (s) for the closing.
