The Bristol Indoor Flea Market will open its doors for its delayed grand opening it was announced late Tuesday night.

Market Coordinator Tony Soprano  said the time is has finally arrived and the Bristol Indoor Flea Market will hold its grand opening  Saturday & Sunday, Feb 29th & March 1.

The market was originally scheduled to open the first weekend in January as exclusively reported by Lower Bucks Source just after new years day, renting the space formerly occupied by Walmart in the Bristol Park Shopping Center.

Just days before the scheduled grand opening, Soprano announced the fire alarm system required upgrades in order to meet code regulations and the much anticipated opening would be “delayed.”

Soprano and Borough officials said the emergency signal sent out to fire companies was not operating properly requiring  adjustments before the market could open for business. Soprano meanwhile has been keeping vendors up to date via e-mail blasts about the two phase ongoing work process.

Throughout January and February fire alarm service trucks were on site working in the 120,000 square foot space making the required upgrades and adjustments.

Soprano said in January, before the delay was announced,  approximately 450 of the 500 vendor spaces had been rented. The market which will specialize in selling antiques, handmade crafts, punk rock items, Soprano said planed to move outdoors as the weather became warmer also.  Soprano said recently that was still the plan as he tries to recoup losses from the delayed opening saying he “truly appreciated” the patience of vendors and the community alike.
