Mindful Outdoor Experience (“MOE”), Tuesdays, June 1 st through July 20 th , 7 to 8pm.
Are you looking for more happiness, self-compassion, and playfulness? If yes, this MOE is for you. This class is not a nature walk or a biology class about animals, plants, and trees. It is a class to slow down, to become aware of the surrounding nature, and to
awaken your senses.
Classes will include breath work, warm-up exercises, short-distance walking, and sitting. Dress for the weather (rain, shine, warm, cold). There will be a series of 8 one-hour classes, Tuesdays, June 1 through July 20 , from 7 to 8pm. Special Event ~ New Trail Opening !! Sunday, June 13, 2 – 3pm. Free! Join us in celebrating the opening of a new (“rugged terrain”) Trail that will take us completely around Cassalia Pond in Delhaas Woods at Silver Lake Nature Center! We will do a Ribbon-cutting AND then a Guided Hike on this new Trail! Be prepared for “rugged
terrain” throughout on this beautiful, one-mile Hike. This is a FREE Event, but donations to the Friends of SLNC are greatly appreciated.
This Event and trail will also feature artwork by local Artist of Bristol, Marty Shively.

Introduction to Kayaking. Saturday, June 26 , 9am – 11am. Have you ever wanted to learn how to maneuver a kayak? Well here is your chance. This two-hour class, led by Kayaking Instructor, Cameron Calista, introduces you to the parts of a kayak, how to hold and move a kayak paddle, how to enter and exit a kayak, ways to keep your balance while kayaking and, of course, how to get around on the water in a kayak. The Introduction to Kayaking Class takes place right on the waters of Silver Lake (at Silver Lake Park).
**Participants under the age of 18 years old must have a Participating/Paying Parent/Guardian accompanying them on this program. Moonlight Kayak Excursion. Saturday, June 26 , 6:30pm – 9:30pm. This excursion is for kayakers who have kayaked at least once before & are at least 18 years of age. We will start at the edge of Silver Lake. Once on the water, we will travel up Silver Lake into Magnolia Lake. Along the way, we will dock for a Campfire and Marshmallow Roast. After all the marshmallows are gone, we will embark on our journey back, letting the moonlight guide our way. Each kayaker will be able to take in the lovely sights of Silver Lake bathed in moonlight. Fee: $40/person or $35/person for Friends of SLNC Members. Christopher Westfall’s Concert in the Woods. Saturday, June 26 , 7:30pm. SLNC is pleased to welcome back Singer, Songwriter, Musician, and Nashville Recording Artist, Christopher Westfall, to celebrate the beginning of Summer with a
“Soundtrack of America and; Other Songs of the Season!” In addition to his own Music, Chris will be paying tribute to other Artists, such as James Taylor, John Denver, Kenny Loggins, Dan Fogelberg, and More!
The Concert is planned to take place at SLNC’s beautiful Outdoor Amphitheater. However, as (covid) restrictions are beginning to lift, IF we encounter inclement weather, the Concert will be able to be moved inside the SLNC Visitors’ Center. (**Ticketholders
will be notified by email or phone on the day of the Concert if there are any changes due to weather.**)

The beautiful Trails at SLNC are open daily, from Sunrise to Sunset. It is free to come out and explore then Trails on your own. The SLNC Visitors’ Center is open Tuesdays-Saturdays, from 10am to 5pm AND Sundays, from Noon to 5pm. Groups/Clubs that Meet at SLNC: (Participants are encouraged to check with groups to confirm meetings prior to their arrival.)

The Silver Lake Nature Center, where learning comes naturally, is a 264-acre Nature Preserve located in Bristol Township, Bucks County.
It is a facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation with additional funding and staffing provided by the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center. SLNC is home to over 40 plant and animal species listed as rare, threatened, or endangered in Pennsylvania. Participation in programs helps protect these species and their habitats. The Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation was established in 1953. The Department is responsible for the acquisition, development, and preservation of open space and regional parks.
