In recent weeks, three Dollar Tree Inc sources told Lower Bucks Source (LBS) the site of the former Rite Aid on Pond Street in Bristol Borough will be opening as a Dollar Tree before school starts back up in August.
The sources independent of each other, who are not authorized to speak to media, said a store manager has already been selected and was notified of their move to the Pond Street location about four weeks ago.
Calls to the commercial realtor for the property, Eastman-Arnold Company, seeking confirmation went unreturned in recent weeks.
Work crews were at the location, up until the beginning of June, ripping out the innards of the former pharmacy.
A work site supervisor told LBS that his crew was at the site to clean out shelving, storage, and items left behind by Rite Aid, before the next crew comes in to shape-shift and set the store’s look to Dollar Tree green.
The Pond Street Rite Aid closed its doors for good last summer, after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and told its vendors it was no longer purchasing goods and services amid the financial challenges.
Bristol Borough officials, LBS contacted in recent weeks, said they hadn’t heard anything about the retailer opening on Pond St.
A recent review of county property records only shows information related to the commercial realtor for the property.
