Morrisville and Bucks Redevelopment Authority to hold a Public Meeting Tuesday

A public hearing will be held Tuesday at 6:00 P.M., at the Morrisville Borough Municipal Building, to consider amending the boundaries of the Morrisville Town Center Redevelopment Area Plan and the adoption of a Redevelopment Proposal prepared by the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks.
Director of the RDA Jeff Darwick said Monday afternoon, this is an addition to the plan originated in 2006 saying the addition is for the betterment of the community.
Darwick said he plans to have a power presentation which details the recommendations made.
“We see the Stockham Building as an essential to development and growth of Morrisville he said, thus adding this element to the plan.”
The 10 S Pennsylvania Avenue structure, Darwick, said is vacant, and the proposed amendment seeks to include properties on the southern end of the avenue.
The plan comes on the heels of the Building and Planning Commissions suggestions for the downtown area in terms of zoning changes and recommendations last month, that were approved by council in a unanimous 8-0 vote. Although some residents attending the meeting exhorted the current council to forgo the vote “until the next council takes over” during the public comment section of the meeting.
Dworkin said the suggested adjustments to the town center is part of the plan to open the door to multiple opportunities for future development in Morrisville.
This is one of the key tools we use at the redevelopment authority, he said to spur growth.
After the public hearing, council will hold its regularly scheduled agenda meeting.
