Lower Bucks County motorists, for the first time in weeks, could buy a gallon of gas for under $4.00 per gallon in Bristol Township on Saturday.
A gallon of regular gas at the Red Lion Gas station in Levittown on Mill Creek Rd and Green Lane currently sits at $3.95 per gallon. Online chatter Friday evening about the under $4 per gallon price was the reason for a refueling visit to the station Saturday afternoon.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular across the Commonwealth is $4.50 which is in sharp contrast to the prices in Bucks County coming in at $4.41 per gallon.
AAA said on Wednesday the average for a gallon of regular gasoline is down 12 cents from the previous week $4.42 nationally.
Crude oil prices have been going down for the last week amid reports of peace talks with Iran.
But the fragile situation, AAA said, could cause oil prices to spike again if a ceasefire deal isn’t reached.
The chart below shows how the national average has fluctuated in recent weeks. Gas prices remain the highest they’ve been in four years and will likely remain elevated as the busy summer driving season gets underway, AAA said.
