Just In: House Speaker Turzai to Hold Press Conference Thursday

The House Republican caucus announced Wednesday Speaker of the House Mike Turzai is holding a press conference Thursday at 11 am in the state capital.

Turzai (R-Allegheny), who is serving in his tenth term as state representative of the 28th Legislative District and third term as Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, reports speculate, will be stepping down from his leadership role in the House.

The press conference will be held at his  district office, in Pittsburgh beginning at 11 am.

Turzai,  has repeatedly declined to comment this week on questions about his future, and rank-and-file House Republicans say they have no information from him about the announcement.

Attempts to reach the Bucks County Republican Committee for this story were unsuccessful.
