Lower Bucks put on Flood Watch Alert with Hurricane Ida Remnants to hit area Wednesday

The expected impacts of Hurricane Ida will drench Lower Bucks County beginning Wednesday forecasters are saying Monday morning as a flash flood watch was issued moments ago by the National Weather Service.

The watch, which is in effect from Wednesday morning to Thursday evening, calls for periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms will lead to accumulations of rain from 3 to 5 inches with some areas seeing 6 inches of rain fall.

Forecasters say the remnants of Hurricane Ida, passing through the Lower Bucks area beginning Wednesday and leaving the area Thursday night, is to blame for the hazardous weather,.

The Hurricane unleashed its wrath on the gulf coast over the weekend as it pummeled Louisiana with heavy rains and winds, causing New Orleans to lose power Sunday night.

Locally, forecasters are saying the potential flash flooding can also be life threatening.

Bristol Borough, Bristol Township and Bensalem were drenched in July with an “historic” storm that flooded areas, caused power outages, and led to the condemning of dozens of homes in Lower Bucks.
