Bucks DA: Man Shot in Doylestown Standoff Dies



A man shot by police during a standoff in Doylestown Township has died.
Thomas Edward Zeller, 61, was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon at Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health.
Zeller had been hospitalized since the Feb. 20 standoff which ended with an officer involved shooting.
Zeller was the subject of a police response to a residence in the unit block of Carriage Drive, where officers were dispatched for a report of a man who was armed, upset and damaging property at the location, officials said at the time of the shooting. During negotiations with Zeller to surrender Police, he was shot by authorities.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office Bucks County Detectives is scheduled to perform an autopsy Monday morning, officials say.
Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub is presently reviewing the shooting incident
All police-involved shootings occurring in Bucks County are investigated by the Bucks County Detectives and reviewed by the District Attorney.
