In state government news, the House passed important bills earlier this month intended to help and improve the readership communities.
The following House Bills (HB) will now move to the Senate for consideration.
- HB 2370 is designed to bring adequacy, equity and stability to Pennsylvania’s education funding system.
- HB 1754 would require health insurance coverage for biomarker testing, which can be used to determine more targeted treatment for many diseases and conditions, including cancer.
- HB 2127 would requiring prenatal and postnatal health providers to distribute information related to postpartum depression to mothers and their families.
- HB 1021 would prohibit the denial, cancellation, or refusal to renew life insurance policies on the basis of an opioid reversal agent, such as Narcan, being obtained by the applicant or enrollee.
- HB 1783 would require the Department of Health, in consultation with the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, to develop and post materials to increase awareness about how to respond to opioid overdoses.
- HB 2357 would improve access to fresh produce by establishing the Pennsylvania Food Bucks Program as an incentive program for SNAP recipients to purchase fruits and vegetables at eligible food retailers.
