Injured Firefighter Receives Heroes Welcome Home



Nottingham Firefighter Nick Altomare received a hero’s welcome after being released from the hospital Monday night.
First Responders lined Altomare’s street welcoming back after he was hurt on Saturday battling a fire at Ebooks Web on Bridgewater Road Saturday falling about 25 feet from a ground ladder.
Fire officials said Sunday he was listed in stable condition at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries before being released Monday.
“We are happy that Nick was able to ‘escape’ the hospital after a brief stay and will be able to rest more comfortably at home,” the Nottingham Fire Department posted on its Facebook page. “Thanks to the neighbors who also came out to welcome Nick back. Nick is not out of the woods just yet. He still has a long road ahead.”




Bensalem first responders from Bensalem Fire Rescue, Bensalem EMS, Newport fire company Station 44, Cornwells Fire Company- Station 16 and Bensalem Police were on hand for the welcome home celebration.

Fire crews were dispatched for a water flow alarm just after 9:15 am Saturday, but upon arrivalfound an active fire burning with additional fire companies dispatched to the two-alarm fire.
Fire investigators with Bensalem Township Fire Rescue and the ATF continue to investigate the cause of the fire but no new information has been released since Saturday.
