The fire that displaced up to 16 families and closed two businesses in Bristol Borough Tuesday remains under investigation fire officials said yesterday.
Borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said the blaze is under investigation by the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s office and a cause has not been determined as of yet.
Slack said Bristol Borough Fire Companies were dispatched for an apartment fire at 1606 Farragut Ave. Companies arriving on location found the rear of a second floor apartment well involved in fire. The companies quickly stretched hose lines to contain the original fire and found that the fire had extended into an adjacent apartment and into the roof area.

A second alarm was called for additional fire crews to come in and assist because of the size of the building requiring the roof to be opened and extensive overhaul to check for additional fire spread.

Slack said the blaze was placed under control a little more than an hour after the original call went out.
The borough fire chief confirmed no was injured and the building housed sixteen apartments, Sadie’s Bar, and Black Sparrow Tattoo.
All residents were temporarily relocated Slack said.
Throughout Tuesday, locals sought out ways to support displaced tenants as several fundraising efforts began on social media platforms.
The Black Sparrow Tattoo studio last night also published an effort to “help rebuild” the studio. Studio staff said the shop suffered “serious water damage.”

Across several Bristol Borough related Facebook pages clothing and food collections also popped up in an effort to support residents who lost their homes due to the fires carnage.
Thanks from the community as a whole went out to the “quick response” of fire crews from Bristol Borough Fire Companies who were assisted by fire companies from Bristol Township, Tullytown, Middletown, Bensalem and Falls Township.
