A Thursday afternoon fire in Bristol Borough that destroyed a kitchen is now under investigation by Bristol Borough officials and the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s office.
Fire crews from Bristol Borough, Third District, and Croydon were dispatched for a report of a dwelling fire at 431 Jefferson Ave just after 3 pm yesterday.
First arriving units found a light smoke condition in a room at the rear of the first floor, fire. Incoming units checked the adjacent dwellings and located a working fire in the kitchen of 433 Jefferson Ave, public safety officials said.
Bristol Borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said the fire was “knocked down”
utilizing a 1.75 inch hose line.
Slack said no injuries were suffered and no one was home at the time of the fire.
“Cooking was ruled out as a possible cause.”

Slack in his monthly report to Council added the insurers of the home are now looking into the fires at 200 block Buckley Street. The fires erupted twice within 19 hours leading to public concerns and the fire marshal launching an investigation.
Other fire companies assisting Edgley, Newportville, Newport and Fairless Hills, Slack said.
