Criminal charges in two separate cases about to move forward to preliminary hearings were dropped recently by Bristol Borough Police and Bucks County District Attorney’s office.

The first case involved a homeless man who allegedly threatened to burn down a homeless encampment in Bristol Borough because he wanted “meth” last June.

Witnesses told Police the suspect, Michael J. Robertson, 44 set several fires on purpose because he wanted to hurt everyone and wanted Methamphetamine.

Prior to the suspects preliminary hearing, other witnesses to the incident told Lower Bucks Source that many of the claims made by the complaints in the camp “were lies.”

“They hated him. They wanted him gone and got the police involved for no reason. He’s harmless. ”

The second case involves a Bristol man charged with indecent exposure and summary offenses for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

A preliminary hearing held in late October where prosecutors dropped the indecent exposure charge filed against Mark Kornstedt filed in August and requested the two summary offenses to be moved changed to non-traffic citations.

District Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr. granted the requests by authorities.

Police at the time of Kornsted’s arrest said he exposed himself and was allegedly having oral sex  performed on him in Bristol Lions Park

Police after the arrest said the victim, an older woman with “serious” medical issues was unaware of what was being done to her.

Kornstedt became the focus of public and official ire over the summer when he was arrested and charged with a myriad of summary offenses all related in one form or another to alcohol.

A review of online court records shows all of his cases at the preliminary level have been closed, with summary offense guilty pleas.

Subsequently Kornstedt was released from Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF)having spent two separate stints in jail, according to online court records, totaling just under 95 days.

The jail time was part of “compensation” for pleading guilty to the various summary offenses he was charged with over the summer, it was determined at a hearing on November 17.

Instead of paying fines, he served out equal time in jail as payment, court records indicate.

Kornstedt is said to be currently attending treatment for his alcohol dependence issues, however, the publication was unable to confirm this information as of publication time.

Locals and public officials have expressed deep concern about the man’s welfare, however, in the past when offered help of any kind, Kornstedt has declined.

County records show he was released to a Bristol Township address recently.

Officials were unavailable for comment for this story.
