The family of a man struck and killed in a tragic Christmas Eve incident is trying to raise funds to pay for funeral services and costs via the Go Fund Me website
John Dugan, 55 was struck and killed on State Road by an motorist who fled the scene, just after 5 p.m on Friday night
Jamie Santos, Dugan’s daughter wrote on the Go Fund Me website, yesterday:ย
Dugan was a life-long Croydon resident who worked at the area Sunoco station, which allowed him to form long lasting friendships and bonds with neighbors over the years, residents said.
Police said the initial investigation showed Dugan attempted to cross State Road in the area of Fourth Ave. He fell on the roadway and was struck by a dark color SUV or Pickup truck. The victim was transported to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital and died on the way to the hospital his family said in their post to the fundraising page.
After striking the victim, the dark color SUV or Truck left the scene on State Road towards Bensalem Township, said police and witnesses to the tragic holiday incident.
“My dad loved everyone and always saw the good out of every situation…Even up to his final moments he still made the best out of the situation,” the grief stricken daughter said.
The family hopes to raise $10,000 for funeral costs. As of Sunday morning, 44 donors contributed $2350 to the fund.
