A 13-mile police chase totaling about 11 minutes on Tuesday morning ended with a Philadelphia man facing serious charges after he was arrested by Bristol Township Police with a big assist from Pennsylvania State Police.
The setting for the chase began approximately 7 a.m. on June 25 when a dispatch alerted Bristol Twp Police of a reported stolen white Ford 150 pickup truck heading towards the Bristol area via I-95. A second dispatch, shortly thereafter, reported the stolen pickup truck on the 3800 block of Otter Street sitting in the parking area in front of Pennco Tech, court paperwork alleges.
Township and state police arrived on scene and the operator of the stolen pickup truck realized authorities were closing in to arrest him. Driving the F150 slowly towards the township police vehicle, he reversed himself and accelerated into the front of the state police vehicle, pushing it out of the way. A state trooper was still inside the SUV patrol unit at the time of the impact. The suspect fled the scene and reentered Otter St., subsequently speeding off to Rt 413 and I-95, followed in hot pursuit by the state and local police, according to the probable cause.
Once on I-95 southbound, police say, the suspect topped out at speeds of 100 mph in moderate traffic, weaving in and out of traffic until exiting the interstate at exit 35. He barreled down state road 63, exiting at the Franklin Mills ramp. He ran through a steady red light entering Woodhaven Rd west. At the Knights and Woodhaven Rd intersection, the suspect ran through another steady red light. He then entered Roosevelt Boulevard. At the intersection with Byberry Road, still speeding at 95 mph, he struck at least two other vehicles and slammed into a SEPTA Bus. At this point, state and township police pinned the white Ford and kept the suspect in place.
Township police deployed a taser to stop the suspect from fleeing the scene. He still continued to try and get away. Police were able to control and subdue the suspect, after a second taser shot was deployed.
Police identified the suspect as Anthony Felix, 39, of Philadelphia who had an active arrest warrant and a suspended driver’s license according to a police background check. After being read his rights, Felix was not willing to speak to police. He did ask them to retrieve his medication and cell phone from the reported stolen vehicle. Police searched the vehicle and located Naloxone sublingual film, a glass smoking device, and black zipper pouch containing two pieces of a white pill.

Felix was taken to a local medical facility for treatment and to be medically cleared for injuries received during the chase and some older open bleeding wounds. Police advised Felix he was under arrest. He was then transported to the State Police Barracks in Trevose.
He was arraigned by Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr on three counts of felony aggravated assault, one count of felony fleeing, one felony count of felony receiving stolen property, and nine additional related offenses. Peranteau set his bail at 10 percent of $100,000.00 with his next court date currently scheduled for July 3 in Bristol Borough District Court.
